Euphonik – This is how the future sounds! Every 5-10 years, every industry has that one person that revolutionizes things within that particular industry. Euphonik is gonna revolutionize things over the next five years. He’s elevating the game. If you don’t believe me, call me in five years” - DJ Fresh. He’s a dynamo of energy, skill, passion and intelligent ambition - every attribute of a successful DJ and producer, he exudes in a second. If you’re wondering why Themba Mbongeni Nkosi chose Euphonik as a stage name, just watch one of his sets and you’ll be amazed. This guy is about way more than creating pleasing sounds. “I believe that in order to stay relevant as a DJ, you constantly need to keep up to speed with what’s going on in the industry, know your competition, research your music and always try to have your finger on the pulse of what the crowd wants.” Euphonik started DJing at house parties alongside his good friend, Naked DJ who is making a splash of his own in the music world. Naked can be heard spinning the tunes on Bad Boy T’s show on Metro fm. He says, “Not only is Euphonik the future of house music, he works as hard with the ladies too, that’s why he’s one of the sexiest men in the world!” Besides their obvious talent on the decks, they both shared a love of hip hop beats but Euphonik’s first love was definitely house and dance music. From the moment he heard Fresh House Flava Vol. 1, he knew he was destined to be a DJ. Euphonik is currently enjoying the best of being a DJ across all spectrums: he’s become a household name in Jozi’s clubbing circles and he’s also a regular feature on Dj Fresh’s, Fresh Drive on 5fm. “Euphonik is a super-cool-house-cat. He has an interesting groove and is another one of SA's up and coming music stars. Keep an eye on this boy!” says Roger Goode from 5fm. Big corporates like MTN, Smirnoff and Vodacom have also entrusted him with their brand parties and Euphonik has been chosen to open for major artists like Missy Elliott, Blu Cantrell, Mzekezeke and Zola. Proof that he has a good ear not only for choosing tracks that’ll get people grooving on dance floors but for spotting new talent as well, is his job as an A&R person for Soulcandi. Euphonik has worked with HHP, Slikour and Flabba, to name a few – mixing their hip hop sounds to excellence. His expertise in production and sourcing tracks combined with his DJ skills has molded Euphonik into a force to be reckoned with in the SA music industry. With a rock-solid reputation, rapidly growing fan base and an incredible amount of experience, skill and innovation, Euphonik (only in his early twenties) is leading the way for a new generation of South African DJs.
